For us bibliophiles reading is a year-round preoccupation, but there’s something extra special about being able to glance up from the black and white pages of a book and watch falling snow. And, as these pictures of the Vanderbilt University Library show, a surprise snowfall can give extra character and beauty to an elegant old building.

    OH! I thought this was going to be about writing in snow! I have some experience in such things.

    Spot on. I love the world covered in snow and it does open up the imagination that can lead to different takes on a familiar scene.

    I love winter. Lots of snow and a good book to read,or work on my favorite afghan.Time to stay home and just relax or do the things you want.
