Don’t forget to enter the Second Annual Just Write Summer Reading Contest! You could win a free book! Or you could just have an opportunity to share with others what you’re reading! And you’ll make me stop using exclamation points!
The Summer Reading Contest is a strictly random drawing, unlike the New Yorker Cartoon Caption Contest. As Patrick House explains in Slate, there are strategies you can follow for winning that contest. House himself does an amazingly brilliant job of breaking down the nuances of the contest, practically providing a roadmap to victory. Still, with this contest pretty much all you get is the chance to brag that you’ve been published in The New Yorker. With the Just Write Summer Reading Contest you could win a free book.
